Edinburgh avionics company promises a star performance

July 24, 2013

This year’s annual air display, at Scotland’s Museum of Flight in East Fortune will play host to a new star performance. The Trig Aerobatic Team will be thrilling the crowds with their display of close formation aerobatics.

Flying in bright yellow Pitts aircraft, this is their first appearance at East Fortune. However, the team has a strong local connection as they are sponsored by Trig Avionics Limited, based at Heriot Watt Research Park, Edinburgh.

Andy Davis CEO at Trig Avionics said, “Trig is proud to design and manufacture class leading aviation products right here in Scotland. We export about 80% of our avionics to over 40 countries around the world. Many of our customers are pilots and we believe the Trig Aerobatic Team can inspire tomorrow’s pilots to take to the air.”

Edinburgh based serial entrepreneur, Andy Davis has an established track record of business success. He set up Trig Avionics in 2004, “Breaking into an established market was only possible because we offered truly innovative products – it’s been hard but immensely satisfying. We are a small but growing company. All Trig products are designed and made by highly skilled engineers and technicians; it’s a matter of genuine pride that we support both local and UK industries.”

The Trig Aerobatic Team embodies the same spirit of precision and performance as Trig products.

This is the second year that the Trig Aerobatic Team have been representing Trig, aerobatic team leader Richard Grace and fellow pilot Dave Puleston have flown at over 60 air shows and events around the U.K and Europe. Their display combines the romance of the biplane era, with the smoke, noise and excitement of close formation flight. During the display the aircraft are often only feet apart and they pull +6 and -4g during their dizzying manoeuvres. Naturally, both aircraft are fitted and fly with Trig equipment.

Richard said “We are really looking forward to coming to East Fortune, we recognise the special connection that this show has with folk in Edinburgh, we’ll put on a cracking display for everyone attending, it promises to be great event!”
