Customer Support Manager – Permanent – Edinburgh / Amersfoort

Trig Avionics manufactures class leading products for general aviation, sold through our dealer
network in 42 countries around the world. These products include VHF radios, transponders, and
navigational equipment. Trig’s reputation in offering the best customer support in the industry hinges on talented, friendly and dedicated technical experts, with a passion for providing fantastic customer service.

We need a Customer Support Manager who will lead the team that deals with both our customer enquiries, providing clear helpful advice (on the phone and via e-mail), and repairs on any returned products in our EASA and CAA Part 145 approved workshops. You will also provide support and oversight of our third-party support organisations to ensure Trig’s customers needs are being met around the world.

In addition, you will be a member of both the Operational and Executive Management Teams in Trig with reporting responsibilities including weekly departmental workloads, capacity analysis and product issues and monthly strategic trend analysis and customer feedback.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the Trig Avionics Support function is aligned to meet our growth plans. It is essential that you will have received relevant technical training, ideally in aircraft systems, or avionics. You must have at least five years of experience including team management in a customer facing role. You have experience of dealing with complex technical documentation, e.g. manuals and schematics. You can take complicated concepts and technical detail and effectively communicate these to a non-expert audience, which may include group presentations.

With a passion for aviation you are self-motivated with a flexible, positive, and responsive approach to all types of challenges. You must be a fluent English communicator – German and/or French would be advantageous.

Trig will provide thorough training in all aspects pertinent to this aviation role. You will be required to travel and on occasions work at trade events during weekends. This role will be based in Edinburgh, Scotland or in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.

Assistant Quality Manager – Permanent – Edinburgh

Trig Avionics manufactures class leading products for general aviation, sold through our Approved Trig Dealer network in 42 countries around the world. These products include VHF radios, transponders, and navigational equipment.

Trig’s reputation in offering high quality, reliable avionics equipment hinges on our robust processes and procedures and suppliers delivering products in accordance with our specifications – we are looking for an assistant quality manager who will maintain these standards.

The role

The Assistant Quality Manager will assist operations with the internal Design, Production and Customer Support teams with Quality functions relative to their areas. This could include documentation control, new product introduction inspections, sign-off of technical data and instructions, organising calibration of company assets and auditing of our EASA and CAA approved Part 21G and Part 145 business units.

In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that our main subcontractors are aware of deficiencies in delivered products and lead investigations into satisfactory resolution and dispositions. You will assist in ensuring that the Trig Avionics Quality function is aligned to meet our growth plans. In turn, this role/ development will offer a direct line of progression to the Quality Manager.

It is essential that you have a relevant Quality background, preferably in avionics or a similar highly regulated environment. Ideally you will have five years of experience, including supplier interactions and both internal and external supplier auditing. Furthermore, you will have experience of dealing with root cause analysis, preventative actions, and closure. Familiarity with electronic quality management systems such as QPulse would be advantageous.

This role expects you to be self-motivated with a flexible, positive, and responsive approach to all types of challenges. You must be a fluent English communicator – it would also be beneficial if you are able to speak Dutch. Trig will provide thorough training in all aspects pertinent to this aviation role. You will be required to travel to suppliers and to our offices in Edinburgh, Scotland and Amersfoort, in the Netherlands.

Senior RF Engineer – Permanent – Edinburgh

Trig Avionics is a high technology company, developing and manufacturing avionics for general aviation worldwide. Trig is an export success story, selling avionics through Approved Trig Dealers in over 40 countries globally.

We are looking for a Senior RF Engineer who will join our team, bringing specific skills to improve the Trig product range. Working on existing and new projects, your innovative abilities will make a direct impact on important technical decisions and designs.

The role

This full-time position sits in the Engineering Team. You will work alongside the department team leader and manager, offering your expertise on radio frequencies. Many Trig products involve radio transmitters and/or receivers, so as the senior RF engineer in the team your intuition and guidance will be vital. You will review systems detail requirements. You will also be encouraged to improve applicable quality metrics, introducing new ideas and delivering product enhancements.

You will be confident working independently – so good time keeping and project planning are key requirements. Taking ownership of the tasks set and executing these in a timely manner is important for the wider team – underlying the importance of this role.

You will be involved in:

  • System specification and architectural design in response to high level requirements.
  • Detailed schematic design, analysis, and verification.
  • Circuit implementation and bench debug.
  • Qualification testing – design and execution of appropriate tests.
  • Documentation and dissemination of design.
