Engineering

We have great opportunities for highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineers to join us at this exciting phase of our growth as we are take on significant new engineering development programs in avionics.

Lead Engineer - Apply now

We have great opportunities for highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineers to join us at this exciting phase of our growth as we are take on significant new engineering development programs in avionics.

Our Lead Engineers are responsible for delivering technical contributions and leadership to develop cutting edge avionics products. We are looking for technical professionals who prefer the creative, practical, and hands on aspects of engineering rather than those seeking to develop their career in people management.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Expertise in one of the following disciplines:
    • Hardware design – digital or analogue
    • RF design
    • Verification and test
    • FPGA
  • Familiarity with the other disciplines, embedded software and product industrial design
  • Experience of the whole product life cycle from requirements capture through implementation to validation
  • Experience of working in an engineering research and development environment
  • Experience of technical leadership in a small multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver a product or device
  • High standard of technical documentation
  • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline

Knowledge and experience of certification of products and design for manufacture will be an advantage, as will a knowledge of aircraft systems and equipment interfaces. Whilst avionics experience is an advantage, applications are encouraged from engineers from other sectors with experience of designing and producing small devices such as medical instruments, automotive and the oil and gas sector where relevant skills and experience are transferrable.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll join a small, friendly team and will demonstrate your ability to work well alongside people with various skill sets. You will have experience working with suppliers and manufacturing to ensure your product makes a smooth transition into production. You should have experienced the full product development life cycle from inception to manufacturing as you’ll have technical ownership of the complete product.

With strong communication skills, you will be able to lead technical discussions with colleagues and clearly convey complex technical concepts to clients and contractors. You’ll have a confident outlook and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Senior Software Engineer - Apply now

We have a great opportunity for highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join us at this exciting phase of our growth as we are take on significant new engineering development programs in avionics.

Our Senior Software Engineers are responsible for developing and maintaining embedded software for new or existing products. This includes:

  • Designing and developing embedded software for the company’s products.
  • Contributing to projects covering the whole product life-cycle; encompassing specification, feasibility, development, verification, certification, handover to volume manufacturing and maintenance.
  • Ensuring that Engineering support is provided for existing products.
  • Supervising and mentoring more junior software engineers.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Proven experience as a real time, embedded software engineer (2 – 5 years).
  • Ability to develop software in C or C++, following the company standards.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Visual Studio or Keil ARM development systems and ICE.
  • Ability to produce software design and test documentation to DO-178B.
  • Experience of working in a commercial research and development environment.
  • High standard of technical documentation.Knowledge and experience of certification of products and design for manufacture will be an advantage.
